Modern Art
The birds depicted within the works of art in this exhibit room display the drastic change of their use in Modern Art. Now, they are depicted as distorted figures and are emotionally abstracted, while others were almost non-representational. Although Modern Art was missing many of the classical aspects, each and every piece of artwork still obtained symbolic significance, some being even emotionally symbolic.
This Cubist work of art created by Pablo Picasso in 1939 is titled Cat Eating Bird, and is currently on display in the Museé National Picasso.
This non-representational work of modern art titled, Bird in Space was created by European Artist Constantine Brancusi. Constructed between 1932 and 1940, this sculpture is currently located in the Guggenheim Museum.
